One travels for years without knowing what one is looking for, one wanders in the noise, entangled in desires or repentance and one suddenly arrives in one of these two or three places that await each of us in this world. The traveler who, from the terrace of Cordes, watches the summer night, knows that he does not need to go any farther, and that, if he will, the beauty here, day after day, will remove it to all solitude.
Midi-Pyrénées would be the favorite region of the French?
After Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, in the Lot, voted favorite village of the French in 2012, Cordes-sur-Ciel, located in the Tarn, won this title in 2014!
On holiday in my hometown, I visited Cordes-sur-Ciel, a week before the village became the favorite village of the French!
Cordes-sur-Ciel, a great site in the Midi-Pyrenees region, is well named because you have to climb a large cobbled street to reach the summits of Cordes-sur-Ciel and enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside.
The expedition with baby was a bit chaotic and our beloved urban stroller stuck in the cobblestones! We had forgotten the baby carrier and Noah ended up in Daddy’s arms!Strings is worth it!
Arrived at the top of the village, we were thirsty after this climb a bit laborious! We found a small shop to quench our thirst, on the rue Saint-Michel, held by a charming tarnais. He offers cocktails, smoothies and bubble teas homemade, he took the time to explain his menu of local produce, local syrups and lemonade from the area please!
Armed with our lemonade adorned with pearls of syrups, we blew and enjoyed the beautiful view from the main square, but we could not stay too long because Noah was getting impatient!
